'Spider-Man' Actor Takes First Steps After Accident

12/27/2010,  The Wall Street Journal

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark
Less than a week after his fall, actor Christopher Tierney took his first steps. Tierney, a stunt actor starring in “Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark,” was the fourth cast member to injure himself on Monday after plunging into the orchestra pit after a cable snapped during the second act of the show.

The actor’s injuries included cracks in three lumbar vertebrae and four broken ribs. The actor’s father told the Associated Press, “They’re eagerly awaiting his return. He just felt so blessed to be part of this whole creative process, and he just cannot wait to get back and perform in the show.”
