It seems a little odd when a production company issues a simple one-line press release saying a star is back on the set, but when your star is Charlie Sheen — and he’s spent some time in rehab while fighting felony, menacing, and assault charges — then an update on his status is more than just a little newsworthy.

Warner Bros. TV announced today that Two and A Half Men’s biggest and highest paid star returned to the Burbank, Calif. set today to resume production on the sitcom, which remains TV’s most watched comedy at 14.96 million. Sheen’s off-screen antics haven’t impacted the veteran series; Men, in fact, posted its highest adults 18-49 rating (5.8/15) in three years on March 8.

Sheen’s time off didn’t have a huge impact on the show’s run; CBS already had three episodes in the can when the actor announced plans to enter rehab. Though a rerun aired last night, the next original episode is scheduled for March 22. CBS ordered 24 episodes of Men this season.
